Next Sweater....

Its been awhile since I've posted!!! Wow... Time flies when you are having fun I guess. So a sweet gal off Ravelry gifted me 11 balls of this beautiful spring green yarn. I also bought the latest copy of Interweave Knits magazine. I decided to go ahead and try to make the Union Station Cardigan Sweater. It looked pretty easy, so I thought.. My progress however is turtle pace... It seems to be dragging, I don't know if it is because its knit a row, then purl back or what, but its taking me forever to work on this sweater. I also joined a Sweater Knit Along, and the "end date" is suppose to be April 13th.. I don't know if I will make it LOL. It is a pretty sweater though.

Indie/Project Mash Up Swap Package

A huge thank you to MinTrain from Ravelry. Love my package. The yarn is very yummy and the pattern you got me I hope to tackle them again LOL. Me an Socks!! I hope I will finish them! :-) The tea will be perfect this week, the temps in Michigan have dropped. An I can't wait to use those needles I want to see if they are just as good as the metal square needles, because they make an interchangeable set. I have found the square needles are "sharper" than my Addi's.

Let's Swap - Stalk your Partner Package

I signed up for a few swaps through Ravelry. I want to send out a huge thank you to Rlrothermich. Your package was amazing. Loved it all, the postcards are awesome. I so want to travel west. Also the salt, I have the perfect recipe to use that with. Salted Caramel Apple hand pies. Amazing. Again thank you so much.

Weekly Allowance

So I've been struggling lately, trying to pay off bills, trying to stick to a budget, trying to run a household living with a spender that has no concept of money... So for my allowance I have decided to go back to the old faithful envelope system. How pretty is this envelope. It has 6 envelopes, one for each week, and then an envelope for money that wasn't spent throughout the weeks.

Cover

Week 1 and 2

Week 3 and 4

Week 5 (rarely used) and "Overflow"

Work In Progress - Family Recipe Scrapbook

So I've been wanting to create a family recipe scrapbook for many years. Mainly because I have an obsession with recipes and I also love the heritage that comes with old recipes. I've always been very close with my father's side of the family. The family joke is that "I am more wop than my father is". I cherish the fact that I have such a tight relationship with that side, and that I can stand up and say my best friend is my grandmother. Just love her. But then I sit back and think I was very blessed in knowing where I came from, and my family tree, where my two cousins have not been giving that opportunity. Due to circumstances they just weren't around our family, and me being the oldest, most of our "great" grandmothers/grandfathers passed away before they were even born. Also due to circumstances, I haven't seen them in 10+ years. I thought it would be a "grand gesture" to create a book, that shows them who their family was, what their family is.. To me recipes can do that. So this is just a work in progress, and I have only 1 started (have to make 3 books LOL) I hope to add pictures of our grandmothers, and all our "Greats" along with pictures of the three of us when we were kids. I also have our family tree... To help them know who created what recipe an how that person is related to them. :-)
